ENCOURAGING SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND VOLUNTARY ACTION - HOW TO BE A COMMUNITY CHAMPION: ACTION MANUALS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

CIVA has developed a range of action manuals published in a simple workbook format with basic advice and space for readers to develop their own plans for getting into action.

The books are targeted at young people. Three titles have been published so far:
  • How to be a Community Champion, on project planning
  • How to be a Fundraising Champion, on mobilising resources for your project
  • Untie Your Tongue, and Get Life Licked, on public speaking
The books are now distributed by Community Links, and further titles are planned. A Sheffield edition of How to be a Community Champion has been published by Voluntary Action Sheffield, and the BBC used the text of this book as the centrepiece of its iCAN citizenship manual which accompanied and introduced an interactive website.

Further titles are under development.

These publications can be ordered from: www.community-links.org/ourwork/publicationslist_page197.aspx
