Volunteering

CIVA has a number of volunteers working on specific projects, such as researching microcredit and street children or assisting with compilation and editing for the 365 Ways project.

If you feel that you can make a specific contribution to the work of CIVA, please contact the Director. Note that we do not respond to general enquiries to volunteer.

SUPPORT US

There are a number of ways in which you can help us:

Village reading groups: we are looking for donors to support this scheme, and are especially interested in linking reading groups in India with members of book reading groups in the UK who are prepared to commit to providing or raising a minimum of £500 per annum over a number of years.

BooksLine publications: we have around 20 donors supporting this programme contributing amounts from £50 per annum to a lump sum of £2,500. If you are interested in supporting the scheme or sponsoring a publication, please contact CIVA

Buzzbank: we are looking to raise £35,000 in crowdfunding to add to the funds put up by our core of foundation and individual investors to launch this new crowdfunding website. If you are interested in crowdfunding and would like to support us with what essentially a loan and an entitlement to a share of the profits, and if you can put up between £200 and £2,000, please contact CIVA

Social Ventures: If you would like to put some money into an exciting social venture, which also gives you some return in cash or in kind, go to Buzzbank and browse some of the projects that are looking for support to help make something happen: www.buzzbank.org

CIVA projects: At any one time we are helping a range of causes raise money via our Just Giving page, such as Sight of Emotion (which promotes photography by the blind), the Oxford Jam, (a fringe event for social entrepreneurs at the Skoll World Forum) and Cola Aid (bringing medicines into remote areas of Africa by co-distribution with beverages). Go to the Centre for Innovation in Voluntary Action page at www.justgiving.com/civa and support one of the fundraisers listed at the bottom right of the page.
